How I got here…

For over 25 years, event and floral design has been my passion… I love throwing parties! Getting to know my clients and sharing that passion with them is the best part of my job! I live, love and breathe my work. Making a difference in someone’s life through my creative designs, no matter how big or small, is truly exciting. I feel blessed and so grateful to be doing what I love and seeing the joy it brings to others.

Growing up, I had always loved creating crafts, so I took a Floral Design Course in 1991, followed by a job offer at the floral shop owned by the person instructing the class. Working in a flower shop was both wonderful and demanding, but it was a great opportunity to really learn the incredible art of floral design. I also learned that you cannot not bring back the special day if something gets in the way of delivering their flowers… no matter what you may offer as consolation afterwards. With that in mind, I do everything in my power to make it happen for my clients, and to this day I always have a Plan B!

In 1995 I opened a floral company called Floral Visions, designing floral for weddings, as well as storefront display windows, and decorating pubs and restaurants for the holiday seasons.

In 2001, the same year we decided to move to the Comox Valley, I partnered with Daniel Leaman to form Krylea Creative Solutions, a full event design company including ceiling decor, backdrops, floral and décor. To this day, Krylea Creative Solutions continues to do amazing ceiling decor and lighting displays, and I enjoy working with him often!

After many successful years, I accepted a position at All in One Party Shop from 2013-2017. I became their Head Designer, Florist and Decorator in the beginning of 2015.

This incredible experience broadened my skills, experiences and creativity even further, and sparked my interest to pursue additional certification in Event Design and Event Planning. While I had learned so much over the many years of being in business I still had questions. This amazing course answered every one of them.

Now, with my company Weddings and Event Design By Christina, I have the great pleasure of working directly with you to make your event personal and special.
